Advantages of Firefox
There are a wide variety of web browsers that people use to access 20six. All windows computers come with one called Internet Explorer, however, for a smoother and easier blogging experience, I personally suggest using the Firefox browser . It's free to download and has a number of great features that make blogging, and indeed regular browsing so much easier. A few of the main features are below...
Tabbed Browsing
Often when browsing blogs you may wish to have a number of pages open at the same time. Firefox allows you to do this by having one window with a number of tabs open within it. This can be of great advantage when surfing 20six. I usually have my admin area open in one tab, so I can check for new comments and write entries if I need, in the next tab I have the bloglist so I can check who has been posting, the next tab plays host to my coComment conversations page so I can track comments, and the next tab my bloglines subscriptions. This allows me to have all of my blogging in one window, which is perfect if you blog while working as it can be easily kept seperated and minimised or closed if needed. Also, when opening a new blog, you can right click on it and press 'open in new tab' and it will open itself in a new tab in the same window. It's flexible and easy to keep track of windows.
The tabs along the top allow you to easily change pages within the same window. coComment Extension
If you use coComment to keep track of comments, then the whole process can be automated by using the coComment extension for firefox. It is a simple and quick installation and once installed means that whenever you make comments on blogs, coComment is automatically notified, no need to click any bookmarklets or links, the whole process is as easy as abc.
Live Bookmarks
You can use firefox to subscribe to blogs easily in the same way that you add something as a bookmark or favourite in your regular browser. When you go to this blog's entry in your bookmarks list it will display a list of the most recent posts, so you can see whats new on all of your favourites. To add a live bookmark, you must click on the orange button to the right of the address bar, this button displays only when a page has a feed that can be subscribed too, and will display whenever you view a 20six blog.
Live bookmarks subscription allows you to easily keep up with your RSS feeds.
